A Heartfelt Farewell to Cathy

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the news that, after 22 wonderful years, Cathy is finishing her role as an educator at Lalor Neighbourhood House, as we make the difficult decision to close our childcare doors

Cathy has been so much more than an educator, she has been a constant source of warmth, stability, and love for generations of children and families who have been part of our community. Her gentle nature, nurturing spirit, and genuine passion for early childhood education have shaped countless little lives in the most meaningful and lasting ways.

She created a safe and welcoming space where every child felt seen, valued, and supported. Cathy had a special gift for building strong, trusting relationships, not only with the children in her care, but with their families too. For many, she was a reassuring presence during those early years, offering kindness, guidance, and unwavering support.

Her impact reaches far beyond the classroom. Cathy helped make Lalor Neighbourhood House a true second home, filled with laughter, learning, and a deep sense of belonging. She has been an incredible asset to our Centre, a mentor to colleagues, and a friend to so many.

Some heartfelt words from Ms. Cathy:

To all my families and children,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, trust, and kindness over the years. It has truly been a privilege to share in your children’s learning, laughter, and growth.
The memories we’ve created together will always hold a very special place in my heart. You have all been my second family.
I will miss you more than words can say.
