As a proudly community-run organisation, Lalor Neighbourhood House thrives because of the passion, skills, and generosity of our volunteers. From our dedicated Committee of Governance, who freely share their professional ability, to volunteers supporting students in classes and our new Thursday Homework Club, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

Now is an exciting time to get involved. With a range of new projects and events on the horizon, we’re looking for enthusiastic community members to help bring fresh ideas to life. Whether you’re a planner, creator, educator, environmental champion, or someone who simply loves getting hands-on, there’s a place for you in our Lalor Refresh Project.

We’re especially seeking volunteers who would love to:

  • Join the Lalor Refresh Community Committee and help guide our projects
  • Create and nurture community gardens and be part of the garden committee
  • Support us with fundraising activities and events
  • Help around the office with administration
  • Support us in identifying and applying for grants and philanthropic opportunities
  • Help set up composting and mulching at Lalor Neighbourhood House and Links Community Garden
  • Contribute to art projects and mural design
  • Design and build outdoor games for the community to enjoy
  • Share knowledge about recycling and circular economies
  • Share skills in food preserving; pickling, jams, chutneys, fermentation, and oil preserving
  • Bring forward new ideas and help turn them into reality

Volunteering with Lalor Neighbourhood House is your chance to connect with others, develop skills, and make a real, visible difference in your community.

All volunteers will need to successfully complete a Police Check and Working with Children’s Check which will be organised by LNH.
