Northern School for Autism Returns for Term 3
On Monday 20 July, we were delighted to welcome back Pong and six students from the Northern School for Autism for Term 3.
It was a wonderful day of learning, exploring, and having fun together in the community garden.
Jason created an engaging “Bugs and Critters” worksheet, and the students loved searching through the garden to find insects and other creatures before marking them off on their sheets.
One of the greatest joys of the program is seeing the students grow in confidence.
One student, who was once reluctant to try anything picked straight from the garden, happily enjoyed eating the rocket he helped plant in Term 2. He now believes that “green is good!”
Another student, who had been finding it difficult to attend school and our Monday gardening sessions, has now joined us for a couple of consecutive weeks. It’s wonderful to see his growing enthusiasm, and we hope it continues.
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated garden volunteers, Jason and Leila, and to the Northern School for Autism staff, Pong, Raed, and Mandeep for making every Monday such a positive and meaningful experience for the students.
