Childcare at Lalor Neighbourhood House falls into two main categories, Casual Sessions and Term Bookings.
Casual Sessions
Casual 5 hour Sessions can be booked in as needed (max 15 hours per week). It is advisable that you make your booking in advance however we are able to accept bookings on the day of the session when there is an available space.
Casual Sessions are a great support for parents that have appointments or meetings they need to attend. If you have a work roster that changes frequently discuss your needs with us and we can help you book the care you need for your child.
Term Bookings
Weekly 5 hour Sessions (max 15 hours per week) can be booked for the term ahead. This secures the session for your child every week.
By attending regular sessions your child is able to settle into their routine at child care, getting to know the carers and build friendships with the other children.
It also allows parents and carers to plan ahead, attend classes, work, appointments and meetings, knowing in advance that their children are booked in.
Quality Child Care
All of the child care staff at Lalor NH are tertiary qualified with either Certificate III and/or Diploma in childcare services. We have wonderful carer-to-child ratios, meaning that there is a carer for every 4 children under 3 years and 1 carer per 11 children over 3 years. This supports the nurturing and hands-on atmosphere at Child Care at Lalor NH and the children benefit in all areas of development. Our recruitment process ensures all Lalor NH staff are appropriately qualified and rigorous police checks are undertaken and verified. As a parent you can leave your child at Lalor NH secure in the knowledge that they will be under the guidance and supervision of dedicated and qualified staff.
Our Program
Child Care at Lalor NH offers a range of activities suitable for the children’s interest and stage of development. These may include story time, puppet plays, interactive singing and dancing, outdoor play, puzzles, drawing, painting and relaxation time. The program is designed to enhance:
- Social & Emotional Development
- Fine & Gross Motor Development
- Self-help Skills
- Cognitive & Language Development
As children get older and head towards “pre-kinder” age their sessions are more structured, looking at pre-literacy, pre-maths and self help skills with the view of preparing them for a kindergarten setting.
Be Understood
Our carers and administration staff are fluent in a range of languages. Languages include:
- English
- Italian
- Arabic
- Hindi
As a parent it means you are understood, your queries and concerns can be addressed and you can left staff know important information about your child with ease. For children it means they can use the language they feel most comfortable with and have the benefit of experiencing English in a natural and relaxed way. So you can leave your child knowing they will be understood.
Testimonial
“Being an educator myself I was very particular in the care I was looking for. After visiting many centres I’ve decided to enroll my daughter here because from the moment we walked in we could feel the warmth Cathy and her team offer to the children. Cathy goes above and beyond to meet the needs of parents and children and has imbedded a loving and warm culture throughout the service.”
Enrolment
You can download our enrolment form, fill it out and bring it in with you to complete the enrolment and booking process. (Please be sure to check that ALL the form is completely filled out.)
