Adult Learners Week

Adult Learners Week is an international celebration of lifelong and lifewide learning, held annually from 1–8 September. The week encourages Australians to reflect on their learning journeys, explore new opportunities, and take the next step in education, skills development, or personal growth.

At LNh, we are proud to celebrate Adult Learners Week by supporting our community through accredited English and computer courses, as well as afterschool tutoring programs. Our services help learners build confidence, develop practical skills, and create new opportunities for work, study, and everyday life in a welcoming and supportive learning environment.

r u ok? DAY 2026

Join us on Thursday 10th September at 12pm at the Lalor Neighbourhood House as we come together for a special community event in recognition of R U OK? Day. This welcoming gathering will bring the community together to connect, share a meal, and encourage meaningful conversations about wellbeing. Guests will enjoy a Halal sausage sizzle, live music, and vibrant Greek, Middle Eastern, and Italian cultural displays around the building. The day will also include the distribution of food packages for those in need, our weekly sewing class for Arabic-speaking women, and fun craft activities supported by ABC disability support volunteers. It will be a warm and inclusive afternoon where people from all backgrounds will come together to check in, connect, and remind each other that a simple conversation can make a big difference.
