Words from Manager Jo
Amazing work over the first weekend of August by Damian, Jason, Tam and her daughter. They moved soil from two very large raised garden beds and also completed the removal of rotten compost.
A huge amount of work!
Also, thanks goes to Hala, Nadia, Zaina and Repurpose It Recycling, who all helped me dig and move rotten compost into a ute for transport to a green recycling site.
They were all incredibly helpful in extremely smelly circumstances. All of this work helps prepare our spaces for the wonderful work to come while keeping Council happy too.
Thanks again, everyone.
Work completed:
- Sandpit and black planter box out the back emptied.
- The soil and contents were transferred into two planter boxes out the front and under the fruit trees.
- Three red-lidded bins were emptied and started again, as they had mixed contents. We separated out items for the yellow and green-lidded bins.
- Refilled the three red-lidded bins with one-third garden contents and the rest lighter rubbish.
