🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Sandra 🌟
At Lalor Neighbourhood House, we’re incredibly lucky to have volunteers who bring passion, heart, and dedication to everything they do and Sandra is a shining example of that spirit!
Sandra joined us from Nexus Supportz with her two clients, Anita and Jeanette, who have become familiar and much-loved faces around the house. Sandra has worked alongside her clients for over 15 years, providing genuine support, encouragement, and opportunities for them to participate fully in community life.
Together, Sandra, Anita, and Jeanette play a vital role in running the Watermelon Café, serving up smiles, delicious treats, and warm conversations that brighten everyone’s day. Beyond the café, they’re also actively involved in a range of creative activities through the Creative Hub, where Sandra’s enthusiasm and caring nature help foster a sense of inclusion, creativity, and connection.
Bushra, our project coordinator, shared some heartfelt words about Sandra:
“I find her so motherly, so warm and funny. She’s an important part of the social enterprise, more like extended family.”
It’s not just within her volunteer role that Sandra shines. She consistently goes above and beyond to help out wherever she can. From assisting with the setup of our new kitchen (in her own time!) to lending a hand at the LNH markets, Sandra is always ready to contribute, bringing her positive energy and community spirit to every task.
Sandra’s compassion, reliability, and sense of humour make her a truly valued member of our LNH community. Her ongoing commitment not only supports her clients but strengthens the sense of belonging that makes Lalor Neighbourhood House such a special place.
On behalf of everyone at LNH, we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sandra for all that she does. 💚
Your warmth, generosity, and dedication make a real difference every single day and we’re so grateful to have you as part of our LNH family.
