That’s A Wrap!
Over the past few months, our community lead artist Ildi has been collaborating closely with participants, support groups, and the dedicated team at Lalor Neighbourhood House to bring the Budding Creatives Project 2025 to life. What began as a shared vision of combining gardening and art has grown into a vibrant community initiative filled with creativity, connection, and teamwork.
Inclusive Collaboration and Support
This project has provided a welcoming space for people of all ages and abilities to express themselves, learn new skills, and contribute to something meaningful. With support from groups such as My Choice Support Group, Northern School for Autism, and many passionate community members, the project has blossomed into a true celebration of inclusivity and collaboration.
Beyond the creative achievements, the project has also had a positive impact on participants’ mental health and overall wellbeing. The process of coming together, building connections, engaging in hands-on creativity, and spending time in the garden has offered many individuals a sense of calm, confidence, and community belonging. For some, it has become a regular source of joy, routine, and emotional support, an important reminder of how powerful art and engagement can be for wellbeing.
Thank You to Everyone Involved
A special thanks to Dean from Mernda Neighbourhood House, whose craftsmanship brought the beautiful planter boxes to life and added so much to the visual impact of the project.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and creativity. Your efforts have left a lasting mark that the community will appreciate for years to come.
