Celebrating National Volunteer Week at Lalor Neighbourhood House
During National Volunteer Week, we came together to celebrate the power of community, connection, purpose, and the lasting positive impact volunteers make every day.
Volunteering is about so much more than giving time, it is about creating meaningful connections, strengthening our community, and helping build a more inclusive and resilient place where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and supported.
To recognise and thank our incredible volunteers, a free community event was held at Lalor Neighbourhood House in celebration of the dedicated people who generously contribute their time, skills, and energy to support others.
The afternoon offered opportunities to learn, connect, and recharge. Volunteers participated in a practical session on how to use a defibrillator, took part in meditation and relaxation activities, and enjoyed time together over afternoon tea, creating space for conversation, connection, and new friendships.
A special thank you to Zaheda, our Volunteer Coordinator, for representing Lalor Neighbourhood House and speaking about our volunteer program. Zaheda shared the importance of volunteering within our community and highlighted the meaningful contribution volunteers make in creating welcoming spaces and supporting local people every day. Her passion, leadership, and ongoing commitment continue to inspire and strengthen our volunteer community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our volunteers. Your generosity, kindness, and dedication help make Lalor Neighbourhood House a place where people feel connected and belong.
