Sisters Who Sow (SwS)

What a marvellous day for Sisters Who Sow!

Sisters Who Sow (SwS) is a 12-month gardening, cooking, and social enterprise initiative supporting young women aged 15–25 in Whittlesea to connect, learn, and grow together.

This week, Tam and Atalia came together to share ideas and plan for the exciting months ahead.

Tam arrived with generous gifts from her garden, fresh pears from her tree and some delicious boozy apricots, bringing a lovely reminder of the joy that comes from sharing what we grow.

Atalia treated us to some of her delicious recipes, including standout cookies made with just peanut butter, brown sugar, and an egg. Simple, tasty, and very popular!

We also heard that Atalia is currently teaching multiple courses at Lalor Neighbourhood House and is fully booked until 10 June,  a reflection of her passion and dedication to community learning.

Looking ahead, Tam and Atalia identified lesson planning for upcoming SwS terms as the next important step in shaping the program.

To finish the day, we checked our stored seeds and found that conditions are right to start planting, beginning with radish seeds

There is something special about gathering, sharing knowledge, and preparing for the season ahead. We’re excited for what’s growing next at Sisters Who Sow.
