Jason’s Dedication Makes a Difference
The first photo on the left was taken on the 6th of May. These lettuces were originally destined for the bin after being donated through Food Relief, but instead of seeing them go to waste, they were planted into our community planter boxes and given a thorough watering before the end of the day.
The second photo on the right was taken on the 13th of May, and look at them now! There are clear signs of growth, and the lettuces are flourishing beautifully after just one week in the garden. It’s so exciting to see them thriving! Sustainability is at the heart of our community garden why throw something out when it can be replanted, nurtured, and grown again for everyone to enjoy?
A very special and heartfelt thank you goes to our superstar volunteer, Jason, whose dedication, patience, and care helped save and revive the lettuce plants. Jason consistently goes above and beyond in the garden, generously sharing his knowledge, guidance, and encouragement with others. His positive attitude and passion for sustainability inspire everyone around him, and his support has helped many volunteers build confidence and learn new gardening skills.
Because of Jason’s hard work and commitment, these lettuces were given a second chance to thrive instead of ending up as waste. His efforts truly make a difference in our community garden, and we are incredibly grateful to have such a kind, hardworking, and inspiring volunteer as part of our team.
