Growing Together in Our Community Garden
On 27 July, Northern School for Autism (NSA) and My Choice Support came together at Lalor Neighbourhood House to spend some time working in our community garden.
It was a fantastic day of teamwork, connection and getting our hands dirty! Everyone worked beautifully together, taking on different tasks to help care for and maintain our garden. The group spent time watering the plants, weeding the garden beds and collecting rubbish, helping to keep the garden looking tidy, healthy and welcoming for everyone who enjoys the space.
It was wonderful to see participants working alongside one another, sharing tasks, having conversations and supporting each other throughout the morning. Community gardening is not only about growing plants, it’s also about growing connections, building confidence, learning new skills and creating a sense of belonging.
The hard work of everyone involved makes a real difference to our community garden, and we are so grateful to NSA and My Choice Support for coming together and contributing their time and energy.
We look forward to seeing more shared gardening days in the future and continuing to grow our garden and our community together!
