Courses
Lalor Neighbourhood House provides adult community education programs with a focus on English as an Additional Language (EAL), basic literacy and numeracy, computer classes and bookkeeping.
Adults of all ages and abilities from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds can improve their reading, writing and speaking skills in a welcoming, professional and caring environment.
Our courses are structured so that you can enter at the right level and follow a learning pathway that can lead you to further study or into work. All people wishing to enrol in one of our pre-accredited courses must attend a pre-training assessment interview to enable us to place you in the right course, or to refer you to another organisation.

Listen to our students talk about learning at Lalor
Last year, one of our students, Marcelle Orfali, spoke with Julie Johnson of the North-East Neighbourhood House Network (NENHN) of how education at Lalor Living & Learning Centre has enriched the lives of her and her family.
A couple of years ago one of our students, Joe Xerri, spoke with Julie Johnston of the NENHN. He told her what it was like to return to learning as an adult. We shared Joe’s video with some of our stakeholder colleagues and they were moved by his honesty. Listen below and tell us what you think.
